Source of Technical Wisdom 'n Knowledge
I wish to share with you in simple words what God has taught me in my workplace. He has also done great things! You be the judge!!
In my current role in Information Technology – owing to my professional certifications and years of experience – I’m expected to be a ‘Source of Solution'(SoS) in times of project distress (SOS). I have experienced God giving me every grace, counsel, wisdom, knowledge, memory power and guidance needed to meet the challenges in my workplace.
To share a recent incident… I’m responsible for migration of a DB2 UDB database to Oracle. I was using a tool given by Oracle to do the same. But I found a lot of errors in the migration process, owing to the nature of our data layout and usage in DB2 UDB. However, God guided me to get the information required and gave me the wisdom and counsel needed to resolve all issues as of date. To name a few:
- Extract millions of BLOB data from DB2 to Oracle – the tool failed in this. Technical support also had no easy solution but to rework on the tool – which could take time or to raise a Technical Assistance Request (TAR).
- Storage of bit data in VARCHAR format in DB2 to be replicated in Oracle.
- Default date format incompatibility when moving from DB2 to Oracle.
- Default timestamp format incompatibility during migration.
Everyday I pray to God for my workplace colleagues, managers and project responsibilities. When I climb the stairs to my floor of work; I thank God for He has given me the grace, wisdom, knowledge, memory power, counsel and guidance needed for the day.
Dear friend, what God has done for me, He will do for you! The word of God says in Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;I will counsel you and watch over you.” Reference: Psalm 32:8
Being in a highly competitive arena, I realize how important it is to have wisdom, the skill to do the right thing at the right time. I ask God who is the source of all wisdom, as found in James 1:5 and he gives me the same!
“If you do not have wisdom, ask God for it. He is always ready to give it to you and will never say you are wrong for asking.”
Reference: James 1:5
I look back in my professional career, to another role I was in (with another company). It was a very demanding and hectic role. However, I was determined to give my best and my all – even if the job demanded 24×7 support! This however did not get me far as I was always on the treadmill! It had its detrimental effect on my family and personal life. Worst of all my managers were not always pleased as they expected me to deliver the mountain, time and time again!!
This is when God spoke to me through His word in Psalm 127:2 & 1
“It is vain for you to rise up early,To sit up late,To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep. Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it;Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain”. Reference: Psalm 127: 1, 2
God impressed on my heart that it is in vain that I try to please my boss, even by working night and day, as people cannot be pleased! Unless God provide for and bless my efforts they are all in vain!!
Dear friend, will you pray to God to visit you with His salvation?
Prayer: Father God, You have created me. The word of God says in Psalm 8:4, 5 that you are mindful of me and you visit me! Please visit me in my workplace with your grace, wisdom, knowledge & counsel. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
Reference: Psalm 8: 4, 5

How to face the pressure at work
I came to know about the real God, only 2 1/2 years ago, through one of my friend. That was the time when we had frequent deaths (both young and old) in our family and we had lost our peace completely. It was so scary and we all were awaiting our turn. Just by God’s grace, I was taken to the church by my friend and his powerful words kept me alive.
And even now I live with the same word from GOD. Isa:60:18: Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.
For which I extend crores and crores of Praises and Thanks to My Lord. God has always kept his promises, still keeping up His promises and will still keep up the promises in the days to come. I’m peaceful here (in US) just with the power of the God’s word believing that my family will be safe.
These were the promises I got before my US trip:
“The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bone;”Isaiah 58:11
“the Lord crowns the year with HIS goodness”. Psalm 65:11
I had lot of debts which almost took my life. That was the time when I got an US opportunity. It was actually for 3 months. But just by God’s grace my stay was extended for nearly 7 1/2 months which helped me in closing a major part of my loan.
I LIFT MY LORD’S NAME ON HIGH for all the grace He has showered on me.
At the work place:
There were two clients that I worked with in US.
a. A Company at California : I was very much surprised with how God led me through that path.
The people there were very good. Everybody liked me, which surprised me a lot and that is nothing of me but purely God’s grace. I never felt Home sick or left out there. Apart from all the other friends, I had a mother and a sister among them who embraced me a lot.
In work: There were many situations both officially and socially for which I cried out to God asking me to take away from such situations and wanted to just return back home. One other thing that surprised me was on the day that I could no more tolerate the situation and just wanted to get out of there, that I received an email message from my friend about ” How the beautiful pot was made”. It was through a very strenuous and difficult process that the clay turns out to be a beautiful pot.
And that word made me live with the situation. A thought in me kept saying and I also believed that God wants me to learn to withstand fights and war. All through my past life I was always scared of difficult people and I don’t know how to handle them. I always try to avoid and stay away from them. But this time I was happy that God taught me how to handle them.
I had problems in the initial implementation of our software in the training server which scared me. Through few days of struggles, God finally took me out of those difficulties. The IT team at the company were very supportive. They extended their support by all means and provided me with solutions that put my work at ease.
Then came the Live server installation. I was really amazed with how God led me through these times.
b. A Company at Colorado : It’s a new kind of work for me. It was a data migration. I don’t have any previous experiences in it and I have to handle it individually with the client. It’s a lot of struggle and for many times now I would have pleaded God to just do some miracle so that I don’t have to face the bad situation. I went to office every day with lot of fear thinking about what would happen that day.
And I’m very much thankful to God that each of such day is passing by and Lord is still walking me through it. I know it’s nothing of me and I’m just hanging on with God’s mighty strength.
One of the great gifts that I believe being received from GOD is when: I was introduced to a person here in US who works in our US Organization but at a different State of US. There are not many that we would find in this earth, who would truly help people who are in need. And he was one among the few who would always help someone in need and expects nothing in return.
Throughout my stay in US, I was in the proximity among people who always try to help those who are not in need.
There were many situations where I was in need of something, but was not helped with even though there were sufficient resources. But God never put me down in those situations. He always provided me with better alternatives for which I extend my praises to God. There were never such situations where I had to satisfy my needs depending on somebody who did not want to help.
I’m happy that I was introduced to this person who helped and guided me for all that I was in need of. I consider him to be the GOD given SPECIAL gift to me and as one among my closest. He was always there when I was in need of something and in my difficult times extending a loving kindness and consoling scene to me.
I thank and praise GOD!!
HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD !! AMAZING!!.
This testimony is from a software professional working in Chennai, India and currently deputed to US. She is a great testimony to the toughest situations at work and how they were overcome by God’s grace and His guidance.

From the brink of doom to the heights of success
My name is V.Chacko Jacob and I would like to tell you the story of how the Lord Jesus helped my climb to a top position in my company.
My background is one of “training”. I was in Nigeria as a “Crestcom” Trainer for 1 & 1/2 years. I joined “Elgi Software” as a Training Manager in September,2003.At that time I also joined the professionals Care Cell in NLAG Church and subsequently NLAG Church. I was blessed to attend a leadership program called IMPACT arranged by the professionals Care Cell in December 2003. After IMPACT the whole leadership of the professionals Care Cell migrated to different parts of India and I found myself leading the Care Cell.
At that time due to a management shake up “Elgi Software” decided to close the marketing operations and in a single stroke “I was jobless”. Here I was just married in February 2003 and suddenly jobless. Though jobless, I continued to do God’s work by leading the professionals Care Cell. We prayed for my job in every cell meeting and I applied in many places too but not a single door opened to me. We continued praying and suddenly things came together.”Praise God”.
The new management wanted to get back to the company someone from the old marketing operation and out of 17 people they got only me back into the new company called “Macrocomm”.”Praise God”.Now I had a job and was feeling confident to do many things and we as a care cell decided to do a program similar to IMPACT to impact professionals in the work place for Jesus. And in November,2005 after almost one year of struggle and prayer God blessed the professionals care cell with good planners and we put together the program called “Call To Excel”. The program was a huge success and our professional care Cell exploded in membership. We used to meet on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm at NLAG Church but now we run 3 different fellowships. One at MEPZ and 2 at NLAG Church. After this program God has helped me to become an In-demand teacher of his word and I also take up many leadership responsibilities in my church NLAG Church,Saidapet.
As God’s work went forward – I went forward at my work place. Previously I had 5 people above me between me and the top management. Today I report directly to the top management of my company. God blessed me to head the CRM department and I currently head the training department.
Being a failure in 12th Standard, I had to really fight hard to finish my BBA and MBA and come up to my current level in life. Well the truth is I have never had to fight because a great GOD always fights for me. Today my company also backs me as I go into different corporate fellowships in the afternoon to teach the word of God. They would not back me if I was not efficient at my work.I have learned to do his work when ever possible and God has helped me do impossible things in my work place and life. My testimony simply is “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all the rest will be added unto you”.I serve the living God & He continues daily to add all things unto me. “Praise God”

From being a Programmer to Director of the company
I had a very humble beginning in my career in the IT industry. Fresh out of college, I was not even confident to do a single program on my own. Although I had dreamed of joining a big IT firm, where I hoped to get trained, God placed me in a very small company. I found work very hard and often beyond my capability and I used to wonder why God ever placed me there. I used to get very dejected when I could not perform as per expectations. Things did not look very smooth for me and I began to ponder over switching to a place where I may feel more comfortable, but the Lord never allowed me to move out and instead one day He whispered in my ears that He would lift me up to a very high level in the same company.
How could that ever happen?
I wondered. My performance was not good, the people in the company did not look very impressed with my work and the company itself was very small and I could not comprehend what God meant by lifting me in that place. Days went by, and God began to teach me things with His wisdom, even through many mistakes I made. As I humbled myself, God began to perform miracles through the projects and I began to see results. In every step of my career God proved His word in 2Cor 12:9
“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness”.
Step by step God lifted me and 5 years later I saw God’s promise coming to pass literally in my life when I was placed as a Director in the same company.
This was not something I ever imagined or asked God for. But God was faithful to His word and I once again knew what it meant in 1Co 1:27
“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise”
I know beyond a shadow of doubt that none of the successes in projects that I handled, happened because of my strength or ability. Whenever I cried out to Him at the lowest times, He has faithfully come to help me and give me perfect success.
To all those out there especially in the IT industry, let me leave behind a humble word. It may look like a world of stress, but the most difficult problem we may face or the hardest deadline ahead of us is just too a simple for the Lord to handle.
You may feel incompetent to face it, but having tasted the miracle working power and grace of God time and again in the most challenging situations I have faced, I can boldly testify that “Nothing is too hard for the Lord” (Jer 32:17). He will never put to shame those that depend on Him totally. God never failed me. It doesn’t matter how much you know or how good you are, just focus on Jesus alone, and do everything assigned to you as if done for the Lord. Success will surely be yours. May the God of Joseph and Daniel who showered them with wisdom and lifted them and made them the heads, be with each of you and bless you and give you success in everything you do. Remember you are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus. God bless you.
This testimony is from an engineer in India, now working as Director in a software firm in Chennai. She is being used mightily by God in various ways and a great testimony for all Corporate.

God exalted me!
The LORD will make you the head and not the tail. (Deut. 28:13)
Praise the Lord for His ways! I am really excited and happy today to share with you, what the Lord has done in my life. It is the most joyous moment, I could experience in my life…as I have been awarded the “Associate of the Quarter” from my project. When I got the award, I was completely amazed, for the way God has been honoring His children.
Seriously, I was reminded of the love and faithfulness of my Heavenly Father, because even my other teammates were surprised to see this. I joined the project team during October 2005; and have been recognized and awarded as an achiever within a short scale of 10 months! It is just by His grace. All glory to Him! One thing I have been experiencing for the past couple of years is that, ‘the works we do for God will never go in vain’.
I wish to also thank all my loving friends; who have upheld me in their prayers. Thanks a billion!
