Background:: Meditate on the second chronicles chapter 23 verse 16 it says, Jehoiada then made a covenant that he the people and the king would be the Lord’s people. Jehoiada was a priest who was a high priest, who served under many kings of Judah. The kings were led in the way of the Lord. He made a covenant that the people, he himself, and the king would be God’s people. They will obey the word of God. Thought: A quick thought, today can we tell, We are the Jehoiada of my family, my community, my workplace? Can we be that person who says, I will live holy? I will be blameless. I make a covenant that I will always walk according to the word of God and I will make sure the people around me will walk according to the word of God and if we make decisions like that, God made this particular high priest so influential that he even counseled the Kings.

Decision: God’s looking for people who will make decisions like that, can we today say to the Lord, I wanted to be a Jehoiada of this generation rather than blaming other people? Can we make a covenant? God, I myself will be your child. I will make sure that my children and my family will walk according to the word of God and whoever I get a chance to influence. I’ll make sure that I’ll pray and lead them, that they will also keep the covenant of the Lord.

Application: This Day, let’s examine our lives to see if we have made a covenant unto the Lord when we accept Jesus as our personal savior. If it is true that we became the children of God, the first desire that comes into our hearts. God, I want to make a covenant with you that I will live for you. I will live according to your word and I’ll make sure that people around me, they’ll walk according to your word. The grace that saved us is transforming. That we will make a covenant that we will walk blamelessly. God bless you.
