Daily Thought – Choosing the right portion!!

Comments

Word:  And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10: 41,42.

Thought: What is our everyday worry about – is it regarding things temporal or eternal? We all know by heart “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”, but what are the things we seek and worry about. We spend more time in seeking and worrying ‘all these things’ than Seeking ‘God’. We start to worry about things at hand and many things about the future which we are not certain about and we are troubled and concerned of those, but God has called us to be concerned only about His kingdom and carry this load His yoke which is easy and light and not to be worried about the things we are concerned in this world, since He who feeds the sparrows and clothes the flowers will certainly provide all these things which are worried about. We are concerned about things which do not matter – we spend a lot of time, money and energy is working for things which are not worth it and worried about the outcome, while we forget to chose the good part. Only one thing is needed for us – we are just on our journey to the destination and the path we traverse should be least concerned when we have the beautiful destination in mind. We should be only planning and worried about reaching the destination and concerned about others who might miss the destination and not worried about little things which come on the way – Let us choose the right portion and the right path!!

Prayer: Dear Lord, please help us choose the right path – let us not be worried and concerned about the things of the world, but be concerned about the glory and expansion of your kingdom on earth. Amen.
