Stewards of God’s gift

Stewards of God’s gift

As each of you has received a gift (a particular spiritual talent, a gracious divine endowment), employ it for one another as [befits] good trustees of God’s many-sided grace [faithful stewards of the extremely diverse powers and gifts granted to Christians by unmerited favor].
1 Peter 4:10 (AMPC)

We are called to be a faithful stewards of all that has entrusted to us – stewards not only of money, but also of the diverse grace of God.

Each of us have been endowed with a gift to be employed to serve and help each other.
This awareness and the responsibility that comes with it will help us to use our gifts for God’s glory – even in the workplace.

We can still choose to use our expertise with selfish motives and for self-aggrandizement, but that is not good stewardship and does not bring glory to God.

The gifts and expertise that God has given generously should be used judiciously to serve others with humility.

Be a good manager of your God-given expertise and use it to serve others.

God-ordained Authority

God-ordained Authority

Be submissive to every human institution and authority for the sake of the Lord.
I Peter 2:13a

We are free individuals in Christ and not slaves to anyone.
But, at the same time, we are commanded to respect and honour our superiors at our workplace as they are ordained by God.

By doing so, you can silence the voice of your oppressors.
And you don’t give room for anyone to find fault in your conduct.

When you do what is pleasing in God’s sight and obey HIs word, His presence will be with you to protect you and help you find favour in the sight of your superiors.

Let’s endeavour to follow Christ’s example in everything we do, just as He submitted to the Father’s will on the cross.

God has called us to live a higher standard of living – even at our workplace.

Be Alert! Every working hour is an opportunity to be the salt and the light of your company.

The Impartial Master

And if you call upon Him as [your] Father Who judges each one impartially according to what he does, [then] you should conduct yourselves with true reverence throughout the time of your temporary residence [on the earth, whether long or short].
I Peter 1:17 (AMPC)
We are called to live our daily lives in reverence toward God.
This reverence also extends to our job and workplace, where we perform our duties before God.
Right now, you may be worried and disturbed about favouritism in your workplace.
Or you may be underpaid and not given the due compensation for your work.
Or your promotion may be delayed because of your superiors’ partiality.
Don’t give up on doing your best work each day.
God, who is an impartial judge, will appraise everybody’s work fairly and righteously.
You will surely be rewarded for your work very soon.
Hold on to your high standards and continue to glorify God at your workplace.
No good work escapes the eye of the heavenly Master and your reward is on its way.
Doing God’s Work Everyday

Doing God’s Work Everyday

Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men
Colossians 3:23 (AMPC)
Your everyday work is an act of worship and a sincere expression of devotion to God.
Therefore, it must be done with all diligence and truthfulness.
Obey your bosses/managers and do your assigned work, not please them or as an eye service, but as an offering to the Lord.
Your vocation is a ministry in itself.
So whatever work comes your way, whether it’s a mundane task or a big project, do it all for God.
The excellence of your work will draw others to God.
Let the work that you do each day be a worship to God and be an aroma pleasing to Him.
