Walk Just as Jesus Walked I John 2: 6

Why?

  • Many could not bear fruit after knowing God because they don’t abide in Him.
  • If we ought to abide in Him, we have to walk just as Jesus Walked (I John 2:6)

Points to practice by knowing that how Jesus walked:

1. Be Holy

  • Jesus knew No sin  (II Cor 2:21)
  • Jesus committed no sin & nor deceit was found in His mouth (I Pet 2: 22)
  • Sanctify Yourself, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you (Josh 3:5)

2. Be Obedient

  • Jesus became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. (Phil 2:8)
  • Abraham obeyed the God’s command and was ready to sacrifice Isaac, the promised son; He had the faith that both of them would be returning back, though he has decided to sacrifice Isaac (Gen 22:1-5)

3. Be Humble

  • Being in the form of God,…. Taking the form of bondservant and coming in the likeness of men…Jesus humbled himself (Phil 2: 6 – 8)
  • Jesus began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel (John13: 5)
  • God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (I Pet 5: 5)

4. Love till the end

  • When Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end (John 13: 1)
  • Even at the time of betrayal, Jesus called Judas as Friend, out of love (Matt 27:50)

5. Pray to the Father

  • Jesus went to a lonely place and prayed (Mark 1: 35)
