Design your Life

You may say to yourself, my power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth (success) for me. But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who give you the ability to produce wealth (success). Deuteronomy 8: 17, 18

Today we are living in a global village were time and distance are irrelevant to the speed of communication. We have modern technology like iPhone, iPad, Tab which design our life style. Our emphasis on accomplishment is more resting on the “I” factor. We love to delight ourselves in every success and accomplishments. Though we are right in doing so, we often miss the “enabler” behind our success. That is what precisely the Lord reveals in the above Words. When you internalize your success in your thought and mind innocuously it breeds pride in you.

A) If you read Daniel 4:29 to 32 … As the King was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon, he said “is not this the great Babylon I have built as the royal residence by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty? Even as the words were on his lips the voice came from heaven about his displacement from the Kingship. The voice says that you will be like these till you acknowledge that the “Most High” is sovereign over kingdoms on earth. What stands out very candidly is the God’s zealous in not allowing the man to usurp the Glory of God even in his thought realm. Let us be careful about our attitude of mind.

B) We read about King Uzziah who became a king when he was 16 years and was guided by Zechariah. 2 Chronicles 26:15, 16 we read he was greatly helped by the Lord till he became powerful. But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride led to his downfall. He became unfaithful to God to burn the incense which is done by a priest. Here the pride brought disobedience to the law of God. Dear ones are we standing close to the line of demarcation between humility and pride? In 1 Corinthians 8:1, Paul tells us “but knowledge puff up while love builds up”. Steer clear from the comfort zone of pride.

Put on the garment of love. Love does not boast; it is not proud; it is not rude, and love never fails. If you have love in your heart it will manifest as humility in your action.  When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes Wisdom (Prov-11:2). Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take Advice. (Prove -13:10). The fear of the Lord teaches man wisdom, and humility comes before Honour (Prov-15:33).

Let us follow Jesus as our role model.  Though Jesus being the son of God, He did not consider himself equal to God .He made himself in human likeness and humbled himself by becoming obedient unto death, even death on cross. In your relationship with one another, have the same attitude of mind of Christ Jesus.

Humble thyself in the sight of the Lord; and he shall lift you up higher and higher. God bless you.
